On this Day, we honor all heroes, all our defenders who gave their lives for Ukraine!

The Memorial Day of Fallen Defenders of Ukraine was launched at the state level in 2019. The 29th of August is the date associated with one of the most tragic moments of the russian-Ukrainian war before the full-scale invasion.

The exit of our defenders from the Ilovaisk cauldron in 2014. Despite the agreement with the military leadership of the russian federation, Ukrainian soldiers were shot when they passed in columns along the so-called "green corridor". Ukrainian soldiers passed through our sunflower fields. Since then, the sunflower has become the symbol of this day, August 29.
