Today We Celebrate the Day of Tank Troops of Ukraine!

Tanker's Day has been celebrated on the second Sunday of September since 1997 in Ukraine. In 2023, by decree of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, the date of the holiday was set for September 14.

It was on this day - September 14, 2022, that the offensive operation to liberate Kharkiv Region from the occupying forces of the russian federation and our yellow-blue flag in Izyum ended victoriously.

Tank units were one of the main troops in the fight against the invaders. Despite the overwhelming number of enemy equipment and strength, our tank warriors defeated the enemy, destroyed and captured many of their tanks.

Today, tank troops are the basis of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Their main task is to capture and hold occupied lines and positions, repulse blows, break through enemy defenses and destroy enemy troops.

We would also like to remind you that the most massive medium tank of the Second World War, the T-34, and the main battle tank, the T-64, were developed in Kharkiv.
